Alex works at a manufacturing company as a support technician. His company has been directed to shift production to ventilators. His role is at the beginning and middle of the assembly process.
“I feel pretty good about being a part of a process that can save lives.
I’ve put in a bit of extra work recently but, I feel like it’s necessary in these times. I’m very glad to be able to help people in need. We also make other essentials like hand sanitizer bottles and water bottles.
My work environment has definitely changed. There have been some layoffs because it’s a hard time for everyone. The actual work atmosphere has become very odd. A lot of people are afraid to be working but they know it’s necessary. Social distancing is taken very seriously and everyone here is following it. They are trying to stay at their stations and not be in big groups.
My work is only impacted by the number of orders I get, for example we have a lot of rush orders for companies ordering ventilators and an extra supply of water bottles.
I see some people are still out and about and I would want people to take this more seriously and stay inside! Even if you are not a high risk individual you can carry the virus and give it to someone who may be.”
