Akram Mahani is an Associate Professor and Academic Lead of the Master of Health Administration program at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Regina, and a researcher with the Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU). Her research focuses on healthy cities and communities, healthy public policy and local health governance. Grounded in a strong health equity lens, her work primarily employs community-engaged and participatory research approaches to examine how social, environmental and governance systems shape health outcomes.
